Have you ever wondered how Charlie must have felt visiting Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory? How amazing freshly made chocolate must have tasted? Experiencing the making of one of the world’s most beloved sweets is no longer just a fable. Enrico Rizzi in Milan opens his door to those with a sweet tooth who want to experience – and taste- his creations.
Opening the Factory
“The idea came two years ago, when I felt like it was time to make our own chocolate, starting from the cocoa bean. I talked about it with some clients and they said it was a really nice idea, and that it would be cool to open it to the public. So here we are.”

Rizzi started producing his own chocolate in December 2024 and after some time he decided to open the factory to his chocolate-loving clients. Now his customers have the chance not only to enjoy the chocolate, but also to experience an immersive journey, the journey that starts with the cocoa bean and ends with the delicious chocolate bars.
Inside the Chocolate Factory
When you enter the factory there aren’t any Oompa-Loompas to welcome you, but Rizzi’s Chocolate Ambassadors, who will guide you to the sensory room. There you will start your journey exactly where the chocolate journey starts: the plantations. Wearing a VR headset the customer will virtually be in Peru, where some of the cocoa Rizzi uses for his creations comes from (though in the factory the beans come from all over the world, from Peru to Venezuela, to the Philippines and all the way to Ghana). After this, the Ambassadors will finally take the guests exactly where the magic happens: the factory.
Stepping into the factory, where the air is filled with a delicious smell, you will hear the machines crunching the beans, see the chocolate flowing in a never-ending fall (which is actually part of the production process, even though very spectacular), while being guided through every step of the procedure. From the toasting to the refining, the blending and the conching (which is the art of creating harmonious taste, key in the production of good chocolate). At this point there’s just one more thing left to do, before ending up like Augustus Gloop from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory: taste the chocolate. The experience in Enrico Rizzi’s factory will comes to a sweet and happy ending with a taste itinerary.

Enrico Rizzi and his creations
Rizzi has been a well-known pastry chef since 2010. In his pastry shop he sells his famous macarons, chocolate bars, pralines, ice-creams, cakes. Rizzi has become more famous thanks to his “Sinfonie”, where he matches different and unusual flavors producing unique and compelling combinations. Exactly like the different musical instruments, perfectly guided by the conductor’s hand, come together to create harmonious and majestic symphonies. Enrico’s production eventually made a major step forward when he opened his factory. Buying the most exquisite and precious cocoa beans from all over the world he can now create his blends and make a chocolate that is born in Milan, from his hands and those of his Ambassadors, just like Willy Wonka and his precious assistants.
From bean to bar, Enrico Rizzi’s Chocolate Factory offers a unique opportunity to discover the secrets behind one of the world’s most beloved treats — and to do it in the most delicious way possible. So, whether you’re a die-hard chocolate lover, a curious foodie, or just someone looking for a sweet and surprising way to spend an afternoon, Rizzi’s chocolate factory might just be your golden ticket. After all, a day surrounded by the scent of cocoa, virtual adventures, and rivers of chocolate? That’s an experience worth savoring.
